Singing in the Rain – Action Song

So much silliness. I’m always surprised when I pull something out of my brain from Brownies and people have never heard of it. Especially something this good. I shall teach it to everyone, along with 40 years on an Iceberg.  As a kid I had my mom and grandmother in stitches with my rendition of this one. It requires much silliness so you might need a warm-up silly song to get them into it.

  • Singing in the rain,
  • I’m singing in the rain,
  • What a glorious feeling
  • I’m haaappy (or hap-happy) today.
    • thumbs up! (put your thumbs up, keep them up while singing)
  • Singing in the rain,
  • I’m singing in the rain,
  • What a glorious feeling
  • I’m haaappy (or hap-happy) today.
    • thumbs up, elbows in!
  • Singing in the rain….
    • thumbs up
    • elbows in
    • knees together
    • bum out
    • head up
    • tongue out
  • Singing in the rain,
  • I’m singing in the rain,
  • What a glorious feeling
  • I’m haaappy (or hap-happy) today! (it ends up sounding like gibberish because your tongue is out)

I am apparently going to have to make my first ever storytime video because there does not appear to be one on YouTube of the way I do this! But you can get the tune from the kids on this video. But I perform the song keeping all the actions while singing the next verse, ie: I have my thumbs up, elbows in, and knees together while I sway to the tune and sing the verse. Hilarity ensues.

Enjoy!
